Day 20:  World’s Easiest Weight Loss Program

I’ve lost more than 6 pounds in 20 days with no hunger at all!

Drink contains 5 1/2 tsp or 22 grams of sugar.  They’re definitely getting less sweet, to the point where they actually taste pretty good.  Before they were almost too sweet. I’ve been busier than I was during the caffeine withdrawal program so I haven’t done as many book reports.  Also there hasn’t been as much to report from a physical withdrawal point of view.  I’ve just been drinking the drinks during the day and avoiding sugar.  Sometimes I haven’t even finished the drinks and end up throwing them out at the end of the day.

The main thing I wanted to report today is that I am definitely losing weight on this program.  This morning I weighed 191.5, so that is a loss of 6 pounds, or two pounds a week, since I started the program three weeks ago.  My normal range is 195-205, so I am definitely, without a doubt, losing weight on this program.  My current thinking is that this is the easiest weight loss program there is!  It’s not very complicated:  just cut out sugar and it seems to be an easy way to lose weight, at least it has been for me so far.

In terms of cravings:  there was a BBQ in the building last night with brownies and other sweets – I had a little bit of a craving but not too bad.  The cravings have been easy to manage.

Also, I haven’t been hungry at all and don’t feel I’ve denied myself anything in terms of food (other than sugar). I’m thinking that sugar must mess up our hunger signals somehow.  I’ve cut down slightly on breads, pastas, and other carbs but not really too much.

So I’m losing weight, my clothes are looser, and all that is encouraging.
